Dear Parents,

It has been a wonderful week here at ISY, filled with learning, connection, and living the Chinthe way.

I would like to acknowledge the sports and activities taking place every day after school. If you have the time, I encourage you to come watch our students compete in volleyball and basketball. We always love seeing parents out supporting our teams, and you are always welcome. (Photo Credit:  Chinthesportsfeed Instagram Page)

Yesterday, we held our first Chinthe Communities gathering, and it was a great success. We brought all secondary students into the gym to form community groups spanning grades 6 through 12. Our focus was on service learning. Students learned about various ongoing service projects within our school and participated in an activity to define what it means to be a service learning leader. When asked about the qualities of a strong leader, the top responses were commitment, discipline, compassion, and open-mindedness. I love that our students value these traits, and I hope we all embody them each day.

If you have not done so recently, please take time to talk with your student about what they are learning in school. Ask them how their classes are going, what matters most to them right now, and even what obstacles they might be facing. These reflective conversations are invaluable.

Additionally, please consider showing gratitude to our wonderful teachers. As I visit classrooms, I see our teachers working diligently to provide our students with the best possible education and experience at ISY.

We truly appreciate you and your continued support, and I look forward to a great year ahead together. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

I hope you have a great weekend. Take care, and thank you for all that you do.

Be Good,
