Dear Secondary School Families,
🙌 The Spirit of Connection: Celebrating Joy, Creativity, and Community
This week was Spirit Week, and what a joyful week it has been! Our school is always a busy, hardworking place, and these past few days were a wonderful reminder that laughter, creativity, and fun are just as important as the learning we do. It was a delight to see our community come together and celebrate with so much energy and spirit.
Thank you to our Parent Association for their support of this afternoon’s character parade.
🎪 Chinthe Carnival
Tomorrow’s Chinthe Carnival will be another celebration of our strong community spirit. This is a new event on our calendar and promises to be a lot of fun. Thank you to our student-led Chinthe Fund service-learning groups for organizing this fundraiser for our Chinthe Fund partner organizations.
Kind Regards,
Mr Mike Simpson

📚 Building our Learning Communities: Present, Prepared, and Ready to Learn
Today, Quarter 1 report cards will be available on PowerSchool - please refer to the email from the Secondary School Office for instructions to access these. An important focus of the first quarter of a school year is building our learning communities and setting the expectations for the year - how we work together and how we can achieve our potential.
One important expectation is regular and timely attendance. To make the most of every learning opportunity, it is important that students are not unnecessarily missing or late to classes. To help our students meet those expectations, parents will receive automated emails that let you know if your child has been marked absent or late to a class that day. We appreciate your partnership in helping students develop strong attendance habits. Together, we can ensure that every student is present, prepared, and ready to learn each day.
Parent-Teacher Conferences: Wednesday, November 5, 2025
There will be no classes on this day, and Secondary School students are encouraged to attend the conferences with their parents. These conferences are an opportunity to discuss your child’s Quarter 1 Report and general progress with their teachers.
Parent sign-ups for conference times closed earlier today. However, you can email the Secondary School Office to book an available time. You will receive an email from the Secondary School Office on Monday confirming your individualized conference schedule. All Secondary School conferences will be held in the gym.
