Mr Geoff Heney
Dear Elementary School Families,
Welcome back from what I hope was a wonderful Thadingyut holiday break. It has been wonderful catching up with students and hearing about their various trips, adventures, and/or activities over the break.
As I did various walk-throughs in the classrooms, playground, and lunchroom, students seemed rested, eager, and ready to consolidate and extend their learning.
Today’s message is an opportunity for you to highlight and mark your calendars for the many events that will occur over the next 3 weeks:
Please be reminded to send in a healthy snack with your child each day. We kindly ask that you refrain from sending in candies, baked goods, chocolate, chips, and other foods that tend to have empty calories. The purpose of the healthy snacks is to ensure students can remain focused through the duration of the morning. Providing foods with a combination of protein, calcium, carbohydrates and calcium are a balanced approach to helping students learn and grow. Examples might include vegetables and hummus, Kimbap (sushi), yogurt and fruit, peanut butter sandwiches, hard boiled eggs, nuts and fruit, and cheese and crackers. Thank you for your support.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead!
Regards,
Mr. Geoff Heney
