Upcoming events for next week

This week, our G9-G11 students are immersed in the Chinthe Expeditions, experiences designed to challenge them while prioritizing community engagement and service. These trips highlight one of the most enduring lessons we value: that true success is measured not just by personal achievement, but by the positive impact we have on the world around us.
But what does service on a remote expedition have to do with playing on a team, rehearsing a play, or running a school club? Everything.
Service is a Performance: The Athletics, Arts and Activities Connection
Every skill a student hones in an Athletics, Arts, or Activities (AAA) program is directly transferable to effective service work. The Chinthe Expeditions simply provide the testing ground.
From Expedition to Everyday Life
The goal of the Chinthe experience is not to isolate service to one trip; it is to forge a Service Mindset that students carry back into the school and their everyday lives.
-
Service is about Humility: Just as an athlete must respect an opponent or an artist must accept constructive criticism, effective service requires listening to the needs of the partner community rather than imposing our own ideas.
-
Service is an Ongoing Commitment: The best service is not a one-time event; it is a sustained relationship. We encourage students to see their future roles in school clubs, community outreach efforts, and even their career paths as opportunities to continue applying their skills for the greater good.
As we celebrate the efforts of our G9-G11 students this week, let’s remember that the spirit of giving back is an intrinsic part of being a successful student and a responsible global citizen—a lesson learned in every single AAA pursuit.
Recent Match Highlights
| ELEMENTARY SCHOOL |
| 🏀 ES Basketball |
Our Elementary School basketball teams recently had the chance to participate in five friendly matches against YIS, and it was a rewarding experience for everyone involved. ISY teams demonstrated skill and teamwork.
During the matches, the focus was on improving passing, ball control, and zone defense, while fostering teamwork and cooperation. To encourage thoughtful play, players were asked to complete five passes before taking a shot, helping them develop both discipline and strategy on the court.
The games were not only competitive but also served as a valuable learning experience. We are proud of our players’ dedication, growth, and great sportsmanship throughout the day.
