Dear Parents,

Grade 5 Students Forge Community Connections

Today, our Grade 5 students proudly participated in the inaugural Yangon Interschool Community Building Activity. This event provided our students with a wonderful opportunity to engage meaningfully with peers from other international schools in Yangon, reinforcing our commitment to global citizenship.

The morning began with an engaging Kahoot! competition that spanned a variety of academic domains, including Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, General Knowledge, and Critical Thinking. Following the quiz, students participated in collaborative, inter-school team-building activities. The primary objective of this event was to develop greater social and community connections for our students across the city. It was a truly joyful and productive morning, and our Grade 5 class distinguished themselves as excellent ambassadors for ISY.

Celebrating Our Global Community: International Day

Having taught and led at several International and American Schools across the globe, one consistent highlight is the annual celebration of our diverse cultures through International Day.

For me, this event is truly one of the most enriching and favorite days of the school year.

It is a privilege to see our students and families honor their heritage by wearing traditional dress, sharing cultural cuisine, participating in hands-on activities, and enjoying music and dance from around the world. International Day powerfully affirms the diverse tapestry that makes up our school community.

I look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow as we celebrate this vibrancy. Please stop by the Canada Booth to extend a greeting, whether it is “Hello,” “Nǐ hǎo,” “Mingalaba,” “Annyonhaseyo,” “Bonjour,” “Konnichiwa”, “Xin Chào or your home language. It promises to be a deeply celebratory day for us all.
