Mr Mike Simpson
Dear Secondary School Families,
SEASAC Success!
Last weekend, I was glued to my computer watching our High School Volleyball and Football teams competing at their respective SEASAC tournaments in Singapore and Bangkok.
SEASAC stands for South East Asia Student Activities Conference. It is a highly competitive conference of premier international schools in our region. We are the only Myanmar school in the conference. As always, our teams did ISY proud in the way they competed and fought for every point and goal.
Both of our football teams came away with the coveted Sportsmanship Award, as decided by other schools. Our volleyball teams were extremely competitive, with our boys' team falling agonizingly short (17-15 in the final set) in the championship game. After the boys' final, our team was surrounded by spectators and players from other teams. It was clear that our boys had made a very positive impression on everyone. I am now looking forward to following the progress of our Golf and Cross Country SEASAC teams this weekend.
ISY Chinthe Fund: Chinthe Helping Hands Clinic
A fantastic highlight of the weekend was last Saturday’s Chinthe Helping Hands Clinic. This student-led initiative, run by Elementary and Secondary students through the ISY Chinthe Fund, successfully coordinated health checkups, vitamins, and vaccinations for children from the Care to the Least Centre (CLC) and Kalihtaw School.
The greatest reward was watching our students master the operations and connect gently with the children from CLC and Kalihtaw, demonstrating leadership, compassion, and responsibility. This is tangible proof that the values and service behaviors we model at school and at home truly take hold, creating a legacy of future-focused care.
Our next clinic is on Saturday, December 6th, at CLC. If you are interested or want to support our students' efforts, please reach out to learn more.
Kind Regards,
Mr. Mike Simpson

📚 Building our Learning Communities: Present, Prepared, and Ready to Learn
We are now over two weeks into our second quarter. This is a particularly important quarter for our High School students, as the grades earned at the end of this quarter will go on their academic transcript.
Regular and timely attendance is one of the most reliable indicators of academic success. To make the most of every learning opportunity, it is important that students are not unnecessarily missing or late to classes.
Parents receive automated emails that let you know if your child has been marked absent or late to a class that day. However, we understand that some students need more support from us to get to class on time. To help all students develop strong attendance habits, every week on Friday afternoon between 3:30 PM and 4:20 PM, there will be a compulsory supervised study session for those students who are late to (or skip) Period 1 twice in a week or late to (or skip) class 4 times in total in a week.
We appreciate your partnership in helping students develop strong attendance habits. Together, we can ensure that every student is present, prepared, and ready to learn each day.
