Dear Secondary School Families,

Thank you for supporting our efforts to reduce single use plastic on campus. We are noticing a significant reduction of plastic bags, cups, etc and - importantly - our students are leading the way.

🎓Graduation This Thursday

As I write this, our Seniors are in India on their final Chinthe Expedition. They will return next week for graduation on Thursday.

The Graduation Ceremony is an invitation-only event, and we look forward to welcoming guests in person as we celebrate this important milestone with the Class of 2026.

Family and friends near and far can also share in the occasion by watching live on our Facebook page.

🎶 Secondary School Music Concert

Thursday’s concert was a wonderful celebration of so many things that we are proud of as a school.

It goes without saying that we have a lot of musically talented students and the best music teachers in Myanmar. But this wasn’t just a showcase for music at ISY, it showed how important it is that we keep encouraging students to follow their interests and nurture their skills and talents wherever they may lie - academically, athletically, artistically, socially, anywhere!

The students on the stage were given the opportunity to choose what they played, and our teachers then supported them in making them successful. They gave feedback and encouragement, and our students learned to take that feedback, make their own decisions, treat mistakes as learning opportunities to grow from, and help their peers along the way.

These are skills and mindsets that these students will take with them from this concert and be able to apply them to all parts of their lives and into the future. And that is our goal as a school: to provide them with what they will need to be successful in the future, in whatever they choose to do, and in any circumstance that they find themselves in. Lost and Found collection points

Please take a moment to visit our collection points before the school year ends:

Outside the ASA Office (May 25 – May 29): A large collection of lunch bags, water bottles, food containers, and clothing. Anything not claimed by May 29 will be donated.
Main Office: Higher-value items such as AirPods, wallets, and watches are kept here for safekeeping.

We have already started planning our Chinthe Expeditions for next year. At this stage, we are pleased to announce our dates and destinations. More information will follow as we move closer to the departure date.
