Mr Geoff Heney
Dear Parents,
Goodbye May... Hello June! I have said this before, but it is truly amazing how quickly time passes in school when there is so much learning, collaboration, creativity, and engagement happening.
It has been another joyful week in the elementary school, highlighted by Tuesday night's Elementary School Music Extravaganza. We were treated to about 20 different musical acts, all performed on a strictly interest-based level. This was a wonderful opportunity for students with a passion for music to showcase their hard work and talent.
Beyond the amazing performances, I was most impressed by the bravery, resilience, and dedication our students showed on stage. A special shout-out goes to a small group of our 5th-grade girls who hosted the evening, and to Mr. Diglin and Mr. Saw John for mentoring our students and organizing such a beautiful event.
Looking ahead to next week, I am eagerly anticipating the culminating event for our 5th graders: their Compassion In Action initiatives. This event represents weeks of investigating, collaborating, collecting and analyzing data, revising, reflecting, and acting. On June 3, they will finally move into the "demonstrating" phase, and I can't wait to see their hard work come to life.
In these final nine days of school, energy levels will naturally be high. Continuing to prioritize consistent routines and schedules at home will greatly help our students maintain their focus and attention while on campus.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead!
