Mr Mike Simpson
Dear Secondary School Families,
Thank you for supporting our efforts to reduce single use plastic on campus. We are noticing a significant reduction of plastic bags, cups, etc and - importantly - our students are leading the way.

🤩 Looking Ahead to the Final Week of the School Year |
As we head into our final week together, we want to thank our students, families, faculty, and staff for their part in a year of learning, growth, and connection.
The final days of school give us a chance to enjoy our time together, reflect on all that we have achieved as a community, and celebrate the many experiences that have made this year meaningful. From learning in classrooms to performances, athletics, service learning, activities, and community events, there is much to appreciate as we look back on the year.
This time of year also brings moments of transition for members of our community. Some students, families, faculty, and staff will be moving on to new places and new opportunities. We thank them for the many ways they have contributed to ISY and for the part they have played in our shared story. We hope they carry warm memories of ISY with them, and we wish them every success in the future.
To help families prepare for the final day of school, please note the following reminders for Thursday, June 11:
-
Student report cards will be available from 12:00 PM.
-
This is also the last day of school for students. Early dismissal times are:
-
Chinthe Cubs: 11:30 AM
-

We look forward to making the most of our final week together.
Warm regards,

🎓 Congratulations, Class of 2026 |
Last night’s graduation ceremony was a special milestone for our Class of 2026. My daughter was one of the graduates, and I am very proud of her and her peers. They worked hard, and they deserve all the success in the world.
As the secondary school principal, I am also proud of our ISY team, who made this milestone possible for this special group of young people. What a privilege it is to play such an important role in the life of another. It is not always an easy role to play, but if it were, it would not be that important. To all of our ISY parents, thank you for trusting us with such an important responsibility, and thank you for your support

Ms. Heather Farish was selected by the Class of 2026 to speak on behalf of faculty and staff at Graduation. In her speech, Ms. Farish reflected on the unexpected turns that shape our journeys through life and reminded our graduates that the path ahead does not need to be perfectly straight to be meaningful. Ms. Farish’s message was fitting for graduates preparing to take their next step, ending with the reminder: “Do not be afraid of the zigzags in your journey.” For those who would like to read the full message, Ms. Farish’s Graduation speech is available here. |

🇮🇳 Grade 12 Chinthe Expedition to India |
What a way to finish their school days! Our Grade 12 Chinthe Expedition to India was an amazing experience for all. The scenery was breathtaking, and the chance for this special class to reflect and connect around what they have achieved together and what might come next was special. It is hard to capture the spirit of the expedition in pictures, but here is a taste of what it was like:
We have already started planning our Chinthe Expeditions for next year. At this stage, we are pleased to announce our dates and destinations. More information will follow as we move closer to the departure date.
