Dear Parents,

🤩 Looking Ahead to the Final Week of the School Year |
As we head into our final week together, we want to thank our students, families, faculty, and staff for their part in a year of learning, growth, and connection.
The final days of school give us a chance to enjoy our time together, reflect on all that we have achieved as a community, and celebrate the many experiences that have made this year meaningful. From learning in classrooms to performances, athletics, service learning, activities, and community events, there is much to appreciate as we look back on the year.
This time of year also brings moments of transition for members of our community. Some students, families, faculty, and staff will be moving on to new places and new opportunities. We thank them for the many ways they have contributed to ISY and for the part they have played in our shared story. We hope they carry warm memories of ISY with them, and we wish them every success in the future.
To help families prepare for the final day of school, please note the following reminders for Thursday, June 11:

🤩 Grade 5 Compassion In Action |
The absolute highlight of our week was the Grade 5 Compassion in Action evening! This event was the brilliant culmination of a six-week journey where our students investigated, prepared, took real-world action, and finally demonstrated their hard work, first for their peers during the day, and then for parents in the evening.
It has been an incredible learning process to witness. As students explored their individual passions, our ISY Mission, Vision, and Learner Attributes truly came to life across the entire unit. Through this deep dive, the students have gained invaluable lifelong skills.
A celebration of this scale takes a village, and I want to extend a huge thank you to:
-
Our Mentors: Gratitude to all the community mentors who generously guided each student group along their journey.
-
Mr. Diglin: Thank you for coordinating the final musical ensemble that brought so much energy to the event.
-
The G5 Team: A massive thank you to Ms. Pinky, Mr. Schumaker, and Ms. Sabine for their exceptional leadership, care, direction, and compassion throughout this entire proces.

We are so proud of our Grade 5 learners!
A reminder that our last day of school is June 11. CC 3 & 4 depart at 11:30am and KG-G5 depart at Noon.
Regards,
Mr. Geoff Heney
