Fun, Family and Service All in One Day

By Leo and MinWoo (Grade 10)

The Family Sports Day is a day where Chinthes come together with their families to have fun and connect! The atmosphere was lively, with music playing and people cheering as they joined different activities, such as soccer, the climbing wall, sumo wrestling, and so much more!

The team games were very popular. Families of all ages, from grandparents to younger siblings, took part in these activities, showing that the event truly had something for everyone. Snacks like popcorn and soft drinks also made the day even more enjoyable.

“I really enjoyed the climbing wall," - said Lola from Grade 4.

The event wasn’t just for Chinthes. Our Chinthe Fund partners from Kalihtaw School and the CLC orphanage also joined the activities and had a great time. Along with the fun, they received a medical check-up and gifts from the Giving Tree Initiative (make sure to read that article too!). This helped make the day both meaningful and supportive.

Family Sports Day did more than bring people together, it made a real impact. The event raised awareness and funds for the Chinthe Fund. We supported the Yangon Animal Shelter, helping dogs live healthier lives. We helped the CLC orphanage continue providing a safe home for children. We also supported students and teachers at Kalihtaw School by contributing to their education.“Family Sports Day was really fun and a highlight was getting to play with the CLC and Kalihtaw children," - said Emma from Grade 6.

Thank you to everyone who came and supported the Chinthe Fund. Your involvement made a difference, and we hope to see you again next year and at future events!
