The International School Yangon (ISY) is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting the 2026 International Schools Invitational Golf Tournament on Sunday, February 8th, at the beautiful Pun Hlaing Golf Course.

Our goal for this event is simple: to build a sustainable, friendly golf community across Yangon’s international schools. We want to identify new talent and offer a fun entry point for students who love the game, outside of the high-pressure competitive season.

A Fun, Friendly Format To make this event accessible and enjoyable, we are using a 4-Person Texas Scramble format. Instead of playing for an individual score, students work as a team. Everyone hits, the team picks the best shot, and everyone plays from there. This format removes the pressure of individual mistakes and allows younger or less experienced players to contribute to the team score alongside stronger players.

Event Details:

  • Date: Sunday, February 8th, 2026

  • Tee-off: 10:30 AM

  • Location: Pun Hlaing Golf Course

  • Divisions: Open to ES, MS, and HS students.

Important Requirements We welcome all student-athletes who are "Course Ready." While you do not need an official handicap, participants must have their own clubs, understand golf etiquette, and be physically capable of completing a full 18-hole round.

Registration The cost for the event is approximately 250,000 MMK per student, which includes the green fee, caddy fee, and a post-game meal.

We are inviting students from the Yangon Athletic Conference (YAC) and partner international schools to join us. If you are interested in participating, please complete the sign-up form below by Friday, January 23rd.

Recent Match Highlights

MIDDLE SCHOOL
⚽ MS Boys Football: ISY 3 - 2 Network

The ISY Middle School Boys Football team pulled off a stunning comeback victory this week in a true "game of two halves." Despite dominating possession and the pace of play in the first half, the Chinthes found themselves trailing 2-0 at the break. Facing a steep mountain to climb, the team remained composed and stuck to their game plan.

The momentum shifted immediately at the start of the second half when ISY struck early to cut the deficit. Rather than panicking as the clock wound down, the boys maintained control of the match, eventually finding the equalizer. The turnaround was capped off by a moment of individual brilliance to take the lead, which the team defended fiercely until the final whistle.

Stand-in captain Bram was the hero of the match, leading from the front with a dazzling hat trick to secure the win. His leadership and clinical finishing proved to be the difference in a match that highlighted the team’s mental toughness and offensive persistence.

⚽ MS Girls Football: ISY 0 - 3 Network

The ISY Middle School Girls Football team demonstrated incredible grit and determination in a hard-fought away match against Network. Despite playing the entire game with only seven players and no substitutions, the squad remained resilient from the opening whistle to the final horn.

The first half saw the team lean into a defensive strategy to manage the absence of their primary striker, heading into the break trailing 2-0. Showing great adaptability, the team shifted formations in the second half to a more aggressive two-forward front. This tactical change immediately paid off, creating multiple scoring opportunities and resulting in four impressive shots on target.

Individual leadership was a major highlight of the day. Emily anchored the backline with several critical defensive clearances to keep the pressure off the goal, while Anna was a constant threat in the attacking third, creating scoring chances through her tireless individual effort. While the final score was 3-0, the team’s fighting spirit and growth under pressure were the true victories of the day.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
🏀 ES Basketball: ISY vs. NET

The ISY Elementary School basketball teams showcased the true spirit of Chinthe athletics this week during a friendly fixture against Network School. The afternoon was a fantastic display of growth and collaboration, with our young athletes winning the majority of the quarters played.

Throughout the competition, our students remained committed to the fundamentals of fair play. They consistently followed the rules, demonstrated remarkable patience on the court, and maintained a positive attitude regardless of the score. This event was less about individual scoring and more about the power of the collective; the teams worked seamlessly together, moving the ball with enthusiasm and supporting one another at every turn.

It was a complete team performance, with every student contributing to the success of the day. By emphasizing sportsmanship and respectful competition, our ES players proved that great teamwork is the most valuable skill on the court
