Welcome to 2026! A Big Month for Athletics, Arts, & Activities

Happy New Year to our ISY community! We are thrilled to welcome everyone back and kick off 2026.

As we get back into the swing of school life, the Activities Office is buzzing. We are currently in the transition period—cheering on our teams as they finish their current season while simultaneously gearing up for the next one.

Here is everything you need to know for the coming weeks:

🏸 High School Sports (SEASAC)

We are moving quickly into our next season! Sign-up forms have already been sent out for Badminton and Softball. If your student is interested in joining these teams, please ensure they have completed the form.

⚽ YAC (Yangon Athletic Conference)

For our athletes involved in the Yangon Athletic Conference, the new season is just around the corner, starting in February. Keep an eye on your inbox—sign-ups for the upcoming sports will be sent out next week.

🎨 After School Activities (ASAs)

It is time to try something new! The new session of ASAs will begin at the end of this month. Next Week: We will send out the full activity packet and sign-up information.

🎭 Musical Auditions: "Once Upon a Mattress"

Calling all Secondary Students! We are excited to announce auditions for this year's musical next week. Whether you are an experienced performer or just want to try something new, we encourage you to join us!

When: January 14, 15, and 17.
Where: Room C 401.
How to Join: The audition process has two parts:

Individual Audition (Jan 14 or 15): Sign up for a time slot regarding a prepared song and lines. Audition Sign Up Doc and fill out this Google Form.
Group Rehearsal (Jan 17): A mandatory session from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. If you have questions about what it means to audition, please reach out to Ms. Bekka. Good luck!

♟️ Chess Tournament

Checkmate! The ISY Chess Tournament is taking place at the end of this month. Sign-up information has already been shared in previous blog posts and sent directly to students via email. If you are interested and haven't registered yet, please check your inbox and sign up soon! ✍ Sign Up Form

🦁 Upcoming Community Events

Tug of War Tournament: Don't forget, our community Tug of War is happening Wednesday, Jan 14 directly after school. Come pull for your team or cheer them on!
Chinthe Community Choir: We will soon be sharing details on how to join the Chinthe Community Choir for a special performance at the upcoming Gala. Stay tuned!
