Upcoming events for next week
🌍🎨 Supporting our Global Citizens: SEASAC Arts & MUN
We are incredibly proud to see our students representing ISY at the upcoming SEASAC Arts and SEASAC MUN events. These trips are a vital part of our mission to develop compassionate global citizens, providing students with the opportunity to collaborate with peers from across the region while showcasing their creativity and critical thinking. While there are no live feeds available for these specific events, the entire ISY community is behind you. We wish all participating students the best of luck as they engage in these enriching international experiences!

🐯 A Season of Growth and Chinthe Spirit: SEASAC Success
As the season 2 sports season draws to a close, we are beaming with pride for our student-athletes across Basketball, Touch Rugby, and Tennis. Throughout the season, our Chinthes have exemplified the ISY Learner Attributes, showing that true success is found in the reflection and resilience shown after every whistle.
Excellence in Sportsmanship
While we celebrate the skill shown on the court and field, we are most proud of how our students represented ISY at the SEASAC tournaments. We are thrilled to announce that the SEASAC Girls Touch Rugby team, along with both our Boys and Girls Basketball teams, were honored with the Sportsmanship Award. In high-pressure championship environments, our athletes chose compassion and integrity, proving that "Chinthe Spirit" is synonymous with respect.
Milestone Moments
- Tennis Renaissance: This season marked the return for our Tennis team, representing the first time ISY has fielded a competitive squad since before the pandemic. Their grit on the court signaled a bright new chapter for the program.
- Basketball & Touch Rugby: From the first tip-off in November to the finals, our players transitioned from individual contributors to cohesive units. We witnessed an inspiring evolution in tactical play and unwavering mutual support.
A Lasting Legacy
We extend a special thank you to our seniors, who led these diverse teams with mentorship and heart, leaving a blueprint for our younger athletes to follow.
Congratulations to all our players and coaches on a season defined by grit, heart, and the highest standards of play!
In recognition of Heart Health Month and the vital role that regular movement plays in cardiovascular wellness, we are excited to announce a new opportunity for our community: Pilates classes at ISY!
These sessions will be led by Hugues Tierney, a physiotherapist and osteopath with a strong clinical background.
Hugues’s expertise makes him especially well-suited to guide participants safely through movements. Whether you are looking to improve your fitness or need support with back, neck, joint, or postural concerns, he can offer appropriate modifications to ensure a safe and effective workout for everyone.

Recent Match Highlights
MIDDLE SCHOOL
🏀 HS Girls Basketball: ISY 3rd Place Finish
The High School Girls' Basketball team demonstrated remarkable resilience and tactical growth during the YAC end-of-season championship. After a challenging semi-final match against YIS, the Chinthes showed their true "Chinthe Spirit" by regrouping for the consolation game against ILBC. They played with heightened focus and energy, securing a well-deserved third-place victory.
Su Su was a dominant force on the boards, delivering a strong performance with critical offensive and defensive rebounds in her final game of the season. Supporting the offensive drive, Thwin showcased her range by hitting several key three-pointers to maintain the lead. This performance was a testament to the team's ability to reflect on challenges and come back stronger as a unit.
🏀 HS Boys Basketball: YAC Tournament Second Place Finish
In a display of pure courage and determination, the High School Boys' team fought their way to a second-place finish in the YAC Championship. The game was a thrilling contest of momentum; the Chinthes started with a confident lead, demonstrating sharp communication and early offensive pressure.
While the opposing side managed to narrow the gap and eventually take a four-point lead by halftime, our boys never stopped battling. Although they couldn't quite close that final margin, the collective effort from the starters and the entire squad was inspiring. This tournament served as a powerful lesson in persistence, showing that growth is found in the heat of competition and the refusal to give up on each other.
