Mr Mike Simpson
Dear Secondary School Families,
| š ā»ļø Happy Earth Day! ā»ļø |
Earth Day was on Wednesday and we celebrated it today with a Trashion Show that is fast becoming a tradition here at ISY. Our students worked in their Chinthe Communities to create fashion from (clean!) trash.Ā
It was a fun event, designed to bring awareness to a serious and not so fun problem that we need to come together as a community to solve - we have far too much single-use plastic (plastic bags, food and drink containers, and more) on campus.
We canāt control what the rest of the world does, but together we can certainly make a commitment to stop bringing single-use plastic into our special part of the world - a little clean green island, if you will! And that way, we will make a small but significant difference to the rest of the world.
The Trashion Show was fun, but it will be pointless if it doesnāt lead to less plastic on campus. Please do not bring single-use plastic on campus - it is an important rule that we need to follow and to ask our guests to follow. Letās use the energy from the Trashion Show to make a long-lasting difference to our campus and Earth!
| šØāš Senior Final Exams start on Monday! |
Good luck, Seniors. We are all behind you!
Kind Regards,
Mr. Mike SimpsonĀ Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā

š University Admissions: Insider Tips 6:00 PMĀ | š» ONLINE: Zoom Link |
This weekās University Admissions: Insider Tips workshop will be on Tuesday, April 28. Mr. A-G has put together an ISY alumni panel who will focus on four main themes:
- Navigating the IB Diploma
- Applying to universities
- The university experience
- The post-university experience.
This is a great opportunity for our high school students to learn from recent ISY graduates.
| š Sports at ISY: Ā Personalized pathways to excellence |
As part of a growing ISY tradition, the Football Mini League brought together over 100 participants from across the ISY community for a series of lively matches, with plenty of energy on the field and strong support from the sidelines. Organized by our student Community Sports service learning group, the tournament reflected their impact in action, bringing people together while giving players space to build their skills through sport.
Congratulations to āThe Green Machineā team, who carried that energy through the tournament to take the title, drawing a mix of familiar faces from across campus. The Grade 11 team finished as runners-up after a competitive final stretch.
Across the tournament, participation, teamwork, and shared moments on and off the field gave a clear sense of how members of the ISY community find their pathways to excellence through experiences like this.
Take a look at our middle school team and their competitive spirit up against āThe Green Machineā.
