Chinthe Carnival : You're a Winner For Taking Part
By Leo and Tuesday (grade 10)
November began with a major event - the first ever Chinthe Carnival. Our school community came together for this exciting event, hosted by the Chinthe Fund. The campus was full of energy, laughter, and activities for all ages. Families, students, and teachers enjoyed the lively atmosphere while supporting ISY’s Chinthe Fund partner organizations - Care to the Least Center (CLC), Kalihtaw school, and Yangon Animal Shelter (YAS).
Chinthes showed their spirit by dressing up as their favorite character. There were many fun activities set up across the campus. People lined up to try sumo wrestling, face painting, the “donut on a string” game, and much more! They also got to play with the new VR headsets, where they explored digital worlds. The “dunk the teacher” station drew a huge crowd, as everyone tried to hit the target and watch their teachers get wet. And of course, we couldn’t forget the visit from the dogs from YAS, allowing people to pet the dogs and find out more about the work of this important project.
Here's what our Chinthes said about the Carnival:
“My highlight of the event was seeing fellow Chinthes enjoying the activities that we organized and brought to life,” said Minwoo (grade 10). |
“The Chinthe Carnival was an afternoon I will never forget, full of laughter and cheer from friends and family,” said Pyone Pann (grade 10). |
“I really enjoyed the face painting and juggling, making me feel calm after a stressful week of school,” said Kyi Cyn (grade 10) |
The event raised awareness about our partner organizations. We also raised money to support the Chinthe Fund. We helped the Yangon Animal Shelter care for dogs in need. We supported the CLC orphanage, making children feel at home. Finally, we supported the children and teachers at Kalihtaw School with teaching supplies.
Thank you to everyone who came, played, volunteered, and supported the event. Together, we made a positive impact while having a great time!
By the way, let’s clear up some confusion. The Chinthe Carnival is not the Family Fun Fair:
- For the Chinthe Carnival: think costumes and donuts.
- For the Family Fun Fair: think of the ferris wheel and a stage show.
We hope to see you at the Family Fun Fair in February 2026.
