Celebrating the Blog Team

By: Eaindray (grade 10)

Wow, how is it March already? Time truly flies when we’re learning and having so much fun! With the Service Learning Celebration just around the corner, it’s the perfect moment to celebrate our accomplishments.

As the student leader of the Service Learning Blog, I cannot begin to describe how proud I am of every member of the team. Our ability to adapt in tough situations has been incredible. We had a rough start, with an uncertain publishing schedule and many new members, but through collaboration and patience, we became more organized and learned how to work together effectively.

Each member of the team has grown in their own way. Aindra said being part of the blog helped her “come out of my comfort zone and talk to people outside my grade.” Mai shared that the blog taught her to “make time to draw an outline, color, and fix errors based on feedback while managing work from other classes.” Kyi Kyi reflected that joining the blog helped her “take feedback and improve my artwork while working with others.” Leo added that he is proud we “have been consistently posting one or two articles each week, along with comics.”Mr. Sturmey reminded us of how far we’ve come. “At the start of the year, I said that we should aim to publish at least one article per week and the students thought that was too ambitious. However, I know that if you set the expectations high, the students will rise to the challenge.”

Looking ahead, the team plans to continue publishing regularly, reach more readers, and even share our work through social media. This year has shown that with teamwork, patience, and creativity, we can accomplish so much together.

If you see any of the Blog Team on campus, say a big “Thank you” to them for their important work highlighting the service learning projects taking place at ISY.
